Chrysler Repair: Brake Lights: 06 Town & Country, light bulbs, stop lamp

Question
My brake lights do not function on my 2006 Town & Country minivan.  I replaced bulbs but still nothing.  The lights work but the brake lights do not.  I checked the fuse but it appeared good.  I am not sure if I checked the correct fuse (it was the 20A for the third mount brake light) - is there another fuse for the brake lights?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Answer
Hi Dan,
It appears to me that fuse 26 for center high stop lamp is powered directly from the battery and it does power all the brake light bulbs when the brake switch is closed. So my thought is that you would wsnt to verify that the fuse is carrying 12v and it shows on both contacts of the fuse. If it is, then go to the brake lamp switch and verify that the gray/red wire shows that same 12v, and finally activate the pedal and see if 12v then appears on the white/tan wire which goes to all the brake lights. It is a straightforward circuit and perhaps the problem is the brake lamp switch itself is either hung up open or has bad internal contacts. The switch is located at the "top of the brake pedal" but no further info is given.
