Chrysler Repair: 01 T&C 3.3L LX misses/hesatation when warm, 4 digit numbers, crank sensor

QUESTION: Hi Kevin,

We have a 2001 Chrysler T&C 3.3L LX, the van starts and runs but when its warms up it start to miss or slight hesitation no codes i have changed the EGR, Crank sensor, PVC, MAP sensor , Coil pack ,
serviced TB the wires and plug were changed 85k it know has about 110K  .  ( i have checked the both sensors  as you said in the last time we emailed reading is about 4k and 865 when hot and the van is still doing the same thing and i have noticed that its doing it more and more and even when it is cold now as well .please help

ANSWER: Hi Many,
If you have checked both the engine coolant sensor and the inlet air temp sensor then I don't have another sensor to suggest that might be the cause of your problem. All I can suggest is that you keep checking for fault codes. Because this is a '01 model you may be able to watch for codes with the ignition key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the odometer to see if the mileage reading changes to show any 4-digit numbers.

QUESTION: re checked the reading today with a fluke meter on the temp sensor its about 1795 when hot don't know if the temp sensor are changing or if that is within tolerance, i get no codes checked with ODB II meter. thanks

Hi Many,
Without knowing exactly what the temp of the coolant was at the time you measured 1795 ohms, I can't draw a conclusion about the accuracy of it. But if the dash gauge was somewhere above 1/4 scale I would be suspicious of that sensor. The usual expectation is a reading of below or at 1,000 ohms when the engine is at operating temp. The result if the sensor is reading false cold would be a too rich mixture which could very well lead to a miss. Take another reading when the engine is at the normal operating temp and if still at about 1800 ohms I would replace it.
