Chrysler Repair: Electrical system apparently dead: 03 Sebring, battery clamps, wire interface


Question
ihave a 2003 chr sebring shut it off went back to start it nothing happend the batt was good the turn singnals wipers and radio would not come on either plus the air bag check engine lite didnt lite up when key was in the on position check fuses in the pdc they were ok it has a 2.4 engine.thank you

Hi Randy,
If the battery is indeed ok (it might have internally shorted out or some very large short circuit could have drained it, so see if it will do a jump start from another vehicle or measure the voltage across the battery) then I would check the battery clamps and then follow the wires on the - post clamp to the left strut tower and to the transmission case as a return ground connection could be bad. If the car is really dead, then it is either the battery, the battery clamps, or the wires that the clamps attach to. The + post clamp's wire goes to the power distribution box right behind it so see if that could be disconnected or loose. Also check the connection between each battery clamp and the post, and the clamp/wire interface that is connected to it. A corrosion can occur which opens up that connection even though it looks good.
