Chrysler Repair: Blend door cable or actuator:08 Sebring, chrysler sebring, self calibration

Question
I have a 2008 Chrysler Sebring. About a year ago I didn't get any heat after the engine was warmed up. Then all the sudden it started working. Now I have had the problem with AC sometimes the blower is blowing but not out the vents of defrost where it is selected. It seems to be going inside the dash and not into the cabin. Then maybe 2 or 3 days later it works occasionally. Could this be a lose cable or an blend door actuator. It is just out of warranty and I don't have lots of money for a dealer repair. Any advise would be very much appreciated. Thanks for your time and concern.

Answer
Hi Tim,
There is a self-calibration/self-diagnostic test that is described in the '06 manual, which is the latest that I have. I can copy the pages off a CD and attach them to an email. But to do that I have to get your email address (which I don't see, though the Allexperts site does, of course). Send that to me as a follow-up question, but then at the bottom where you have the option to keep the question 'private' be sure to check that box otherwise the email address in the message will be erased. Tell me too if you have the conventional control panel or a digital automatic temp control-type of panel. It could be that doing the calibration will adjuat the various doors that are electronically controlled by the body computer and thus solve your problem.
