Chrysler Repair: 98 Sebring Convertible: wont start., blown fuse, dash lights

Question
After driving my Sebring I turned it off, two minutes later I went to start it and got nothing. There were no dash lights, signals, no clicks, And the top will not go up. I do have brake lights and the windows work. I just purchased the car 2 weeks ago from a private party.....frustrated.

Answer
Hi Todd,
Take a look at fuse #5 (20 amp) in the front of the power box that is in the engine compartment, next to the transmission control relay, as that one powers the engine computer which in turns control the power to the starter and other relays, as well as data to turn on the warning lights and other relays. Also check #8 next to it that is needed by the starter motor circuit. Look to see that neither fuse has a subtle crack in its internal wire which would be the same as a frank blown fuse.
