Chrysler Repair: 2001 Town and Country lift gate, temperature variation, temperature reading

Question
I have a question regarding  my  rear lift gate. When the outside temperature is above 75 degrees everything works fine.  A temperature reading between 60 and 75 and the gate will occasionally work. Below 60 and the latch will click but catch. Any ideas? Thanks.

Answer
Hi Tom,
The two possibilities are lubrication of the latch mechanism/striker interface and expansion/contraction of parts with temperature variation. I would doubt it is electrical. So see if an adjustment of fit between the latch and the striker by moving the location of the striker slightly, and try a little grease on the interface between the moving parts.
