Chrysler Repair: 97 Dodge Intrepid: engine locked up?, crankshaft pulley, fuse box

Question
QUESTION: I have a dodge intrepid 3.5 engine that I recently bought. It won't start. At first it was running fine except it was running hot a lot. I replaced everything that needed to be replaced. My fan sensor went out so until i was able to get a new one the person that fixed my car put a wire from the fan to the starter fuse I think. I know it was in the fuse box and he said he was hooking it up to the starter so that was my guess. Ok so after he did that my car ran but when I cut it off it was still running for a few minutes then shut off. One day I was leaving burger king and it shut off on me before driving and never crank back up again. I was told my motor was locked up or something and when I had someone unlock it now my car when trying to crank it , it makes a clicking noise. I am about to get a new motor but before I do I was wondering if there is a problem also with the fuse box under the dash. If need more detail please ask me. So far that's as much as I know. Battery is fine as well as everything else. I even replaced the starter.

ANSWER: Hi Stephanie,
You need to determine whether the engine is really locked up by putting a socket, with a breaker bar to turn it, over the bolt on the crankshaft pulley and try to turn the bolt clockwise. Have the gear shift in neutral when you check that out. Only if the crankshaft won't turn would I believe there is an issue with the engine being locked up.

QUESTION: Ok my uncle turned it and it turned but it wasn't in neutral. And would there be a problem with the fuse box as well or starter relay

Answer
I don't believe so. Perhaps the gear shift lever connection to the transmission vertical shift rod is out of adjustment if the starter is not working when you show to be in Park or Neutral. That is a simple adjustment. Otherwise if Uncle has fixed it, then it may be nothing to worry about. Let me know.
