Chrysler Repair: ABS & Brake Light flash, smart battery charger, kim hi

Question
Morning I have a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica, its AWD. My ABS and red Brake light flash and ding randomly while I am driving. Doesn't matter if I touch the brakes or not, I took my car in and got the front brakes replaced and 4 brand new tires on it thinking that might be what it was. It has not stopped. Sometimes its going off the whole drive and other times it doesn't go off at all. Recently it has started causing the stereo to cut out as well. I have a black and Decker smart battery charger and I equalized and recharged the batter and that didn't help either. Any other suggestions as to what could be causing the brake lights to flash and ding that would cause the stereo to cut out? If it is after 4PM Pacific time please e-mail me at:
Thanks,
Kim

Answer
Hi Kim,
The lighting of the warning lights means that there is a recognition by the brake management system of a problem and it has a fault code stored in its memory. I would go to an Autozone or similar nationwide parts store where it is likely they will do a free code readout using a reader that attaches to a plug under the dash. Get the fault code number(s), ask what it means, ask what they recommend be done. Then write back with the results, we'll compare to the manual, and then decide what to do.

PS I don't see a connection to the audio system but let us see what fault codes are stored and look again at that time.
