Chrysler Repair: 06 sebring seatbelt retractor, private option, convertible model

Question
I am looking for quick repairs for the driver side seat belt. It is fully extended. And will not retract. Thank you before hand for your help.

Answer
Hi Alex,
The most recent manual I have is for the '05 model year. I assume that you have a domestic convertible model, correct?
It appears that there is an electrically powered seat belt retractor but interestingly I don't find it on the wiring diagrams. The text section describes a wire to it nonetheless. I would compare the passenger side belt fasthener situation at the seat back where the retractor is located with that on the driver side to see whether there may be a broken wire and if not what might the wire color be so that we might ID it on the wiring diagram. The manual does show how to remove the retractor if that is necessary. It either has to be the retractor itself or the electrical circuit that operates the retractor. I can copy the pages about the retractor and attach them to an email. If you would like me to do that send me a 'private option' follow-up question wherein you tell me your email address. The 'expert' does not routinely see the questioners email address. It may be that the '06 model is not the same as the '05. A dealer parts department can tell the answer to that question.
