Chrysler Repair: Check Air Suspension: 90 Imperial, air suspension system, message answer

Question
QUESTION: How do I disable the Check Air Suspension message from my overhead console?  I transferred the relatively new spring struts and rear springs from my dead 1991 Imperial to a 1990 that had failed four wheel air suspension.  I understand there is a way to disable the message.  I saw that tyomies mentioned he was struggling with that two years ago when I reviewed your answer to his alarm question, but I could not find an answer on the suspension message.

ANSWER: Hi Bob,
Unfortunately the air suspension system has a separate manual which I do not own. I found no way to cancel such a message in the body diagnostic procedure manual. It is implied that when a problem message has been addressed and corrected that the message will self-cancel for all of the other messages, so I would believe that is the case as well for the air suspension system. So it may be that although you have done the replacement that the suspension module is still not happy.

QUESTION: Okay.  It is doable because there are companies that include instructions with the strut kits they sell, but I do not need the kits having transferred the items from my 1991.  Maybe they will sell me the instructions separately.

ANSWER: Do let us know if you find the answer.

QUESTION: Am I reading this chart correctly?  Imperialclub.com has online the Body Diagnostic Procedures book, which covers the 1990 air suspension.  On the sixth page (page 000)(http://www.imperialclub.com/Yr/1990/Body/000.jpg) it has the suspension schematic. If I connect wires 3, 12 and 17 in front and wires 15 and 19 in the rear, will the computer think it is level?

Answer
Hi Bob,
That would appear to be correct. By the way, after further study I find that I have the 17-page section about the air suspension system in my '91 front wheel drive manual, and I have the 4-page wiring diagrams for the '90 model air suspension system (and the '91 and '92) but also note that they differ depending upon which ABS system you have on the vehicle (Bendix or Bosch?). The pin assignments for the leveling module appear to be identical between '90 and '92. But none mention how to cancel a fault message at the evic.
I am unclear as to what you are trying to accomplish at this point. However, I would be pleased to copy any pages from the manuals that I have and postal mail them to you. It costs me 10 cents a side to copy plus the postage to do that.
If you want any of these pages let me know a postal mailing address via a follow-up question but use the 'private' option.
