Chrysler Repair: 99 Cirrus wont start: bypass alarm?, chrysler cirrus, 4 digit numbers

i have a 1999 chrysler cirrus wont start got power to everything. my friend told me that its probably my car alarm. he said it happend to him he bypassed the alarm with a relay and a positive thru a 470 olm risistor    how do i do it? thanks

Hi Gary,
The symptom of an alarm issue is that the engine will indeed start and run for 1-2 seconds then die. If that is what you are doing let me know and we can figure out that one. If it won't start and run at all then I would try for a fault code readout using the ignition key:" on-off-on-off-on and leave" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the odometer window to see the mileage reading change to show some 4-digit numbers preceded by a P. Let me know those and we'll go from there. If the starter motor won't turn over the engine at all then that is third possiblility. So Let me know which is the issue.
