Chrysler Repair: idle issue, chrysler sebring coupe, chrysler sebring

Question
QUESTION: I have a 1999 chrysler sebring coupe. i changed plugs in wires, because is wants to stall and not stay idled right. i also changed the o2 sensor. when you start it or stop the car will die. you have to keep foot on gas some to keep it started.

ANSWER: From your description it sounds like you may need to clean out the throttle body. What happens over time is that the throttle blades get gunked up and choke off the air supply to the engine. It's a simple fix, go out and buy a can of throttle body or carburetor cleaner and a replacement gasket. Remove the throttle body and clean out the bore, paying close attention to the area closest to the shaft. You should also take a rag soaked in the cleaner and wipe out the throat of the intake manifold where the throttle body mounts.

Answer
There's nothing difficult about removing and cleaning the throttle body. It only requires a basic repair knowledge and tools. If you're uncomfortable with the thought of doing it yourself or don't have the tools necessary I'd advise you to bring it to a repair facility.
