Chrysler Repair: security system?: 90 Imperial, chrysler imperial, digital dashboard

bought  from a private seller it only runs 2-3 seconds after the battery was replaced how do i fix this problem it has a digital dashboard 1990 Chrysler Imperial I don't know the engine size but here is the vin #1c3xy56r5ld748545

Hi Valiant,
Try to lock/unlock the passenger side door using the key. See if that clears the security system from its 'armed' condition. It should do that from the driver side door too but the wire from the lock to the security system may be broken. You can avoid the issue by only using the push buttons on the interior of the doors to secure it. Or you can disconnect it entirely but you must be sure the engine is running when you pull the plug. I can tell you how/where to do that if you want to do that. You could also check out the wire but that would require taking off the interior panel and finding the break in the wire that is likely at the hinge area. It is also possible if you can't clear the armed condition, then it is also possible to simulate the lock/unlock action at the security module.
