Chrysler Repair: 01 T& C LXI: Power Sliding Door Problem, dodge grand caravan, postal mail

Question
Evening Roland:

I am trying to troubleshoot my passenger side powered slider.  The door does open manually; but not electrically.  I have removed all of the links on the power harness and can rule out any obviously broken wires.  How can I check to see the harness to find out if there are any hidden breaks in the wire?

Additionally, are the power door electrical components and the electric lift gate components the same between my 2001 Chrysler and a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan?

Thanks In Advance!

Paul

Answer
Hi Paul,
The power to operate the door is supplied by fuse 31 (40A) to the door's control module on a white/red wire at pin 5 of the blue plug. The power to the pillar switch is from fuse 11 (20A) on a gray/pink wire. The motor is powered by the control module for the door and a portion of the body control module is involved in the communication. The wiring diagram for the door is on 3 pages, and for the left power door (do you have that?) another 3 pages. I can photo copy and postal mail you those, from the '02 manual at no cost, which I believe is applicable to your '01 model. Having those pages should enable you to check over the circuit. The text/figures that describes the entire mechanical aspects of the system covers about 20 pages.  Let me know which of the pages you like and tell me a postal mailing adress using the follow-up question but selecting the 'private' option. It could be wiring or a malfunction of any of the modules/motor/switches involved. It costs me 10 cents per side to make copies plus the postage to get these to you if you want more than the 3 or 6 pages. You may send me a Paypal payment to do so after you get them if you prefer.
