QUESTION: i have a 2008 chrysler sebring convertible. it has 45,000mile. i have no control of my headlights, dimmers, or fogs, they can not be turned on or off. headlights come on when ignition is on. also i have no control of the wipers, they can not be turned on or off when the car is running or not running. can you please help me before i have to go into the dealership. i would at least like to have a idea of what to expect. Happy New Year and Thanks in advance.

ANSWER: It sounds as if the switch is a failed mode. Would you like to check it out yourself?
PS Sorry for the delay but I just found your question in the "pool" to which it had been referred by Kevin.

Answer
Hi Larry,
I now realize that the manual which I had hoped would have a table to provide a set of tests of the multi-fundtion switch in fact doesn't cover that switch except to show the various parts of it in the wiring diagrams for the different functions that it performs. To remove the switch also appears to require quits a bit of dismantling of the steering column. My most recent manual is for the '06 model which I had hoped would be applicable to your '08. But given the paucity of specifics I wonder if there is much that I can share with you. Is there any chance that this system might still be under the warranty?
If you would specifically tell me which headlight levels work if at all and when, and the fogs maybe it is a fuse(s) that is the cause. Please be specific so I can possibly analyze what is going on. I take it that the wipers are non-functional. Check fuse 15 in the box behind the dash for that is involved with those.
