Chrysler Repair: 1998 sebring convertible jxi: code 0755, solenoid pack, pink wire

Question
QUESTION:  I have a sebring that i just recently purchased. we cranked it up after jumping it it ran well and shifted fine all the way home@70mph. i had to fix a water leak coming from the heater hose so i had to disconnect the battery and by doing so now it seems it doesnt want to shift any more it just stays stuck in 2nd gear and the codes i had at first was p0700 and p0750,p1489,p1490 but i have replaced the solenoid pack with a rebuilt one all the coils readings were 1.8 ohms per coils so i finished up the rebuild on the pack with new seals filters ,etc . but it now saying codes p0700 and p0755 and still stuck in 2nd gear and the p1489 and p1490 saying that the tcm is not communicating with the pcm what wire would i need to check in the harness to check for proper voltage going to the right places? oh before i forget it had to work it like a stick dropping rpm to shift into 3rd gear

ANSWER: Hi T J,
My manual says the 1489 and 1490 have to do with the cooling fan relays, not the transmission. Are those what you have, or do you 1789 and 1790?
The 0755 means the harness or connector between the 2-4 solenoid and the tcm is open or short-circuited, or the tcm ground could be open-circuited, or the tcm could be bad. It also could be a bad solenoid/pressure switch assembly.
The 2-4 solenoid is on pin 8 of the assembly and has a white/pink wire that goes to pin 19 of the tcm. The tcm ground wires are on pins 53 and 57 of the tcm and connect to the ground at the left strut tower.
The communication (ccd bus) comes into the tcm on pins 4 and 43 from the body control module pins 14 and 6, respectively. There is also an sci transmit wire from pcm pin 65 to the tcm pin 7, which may be the one you are looking for. Finally there is an sci reveive from pin 14 of the under dash data link connector to pin 46 of the tcm. Those would be all the digital links to check out for continuity and not being shorted to ground.
Let me know about the 1489/1490 codes.

QUESTION: I went ahead and replaced the solenoid pack with a brand new one. all the mil lights went out. then when I test drove the vehicle i heard the automatic door lock click when it was time or the transmission to shift the light came back on.I have flushed the fluid and filter and used atf+3 fluid. what could the problem be now its showing the p0755,p0700 again? I checked all the wiring again all perfect shape. I'm lost can you help? also no metal shaving or anything in the pan when  Changed the fluid.

Answer
Hi TJ,
If you have checked every one of the wires that I listed as described, and you replaced solenoid pack, then it would appear to be the TCM itself. That is the best I can offer as you apparently eliminated all the other possibilities suggested by the manual.

PS Thanks for the rating.

PPS There is one 'long shot' that you might check: the transmission control relay. If ita actuation was unreliable or it had poorly conducting internal contacts that can be a cause of the 0755 code. So take a look in the power box under the hood and try switching that relay with a different relay in the box that has the same part number and observe for whether the symptom goes away or even changes to be a different problem.
