Chrysler Repair: strut nut torqueing: minivan, shock absorber, dodge caravan

Question
I have a 1997 dodge caravan. When trying to torque the strut nut with my micro torque wrench with the coil spring depressed. The nut and the shock absorber extension just turn. Any thoughts on how this might be done.

Answer
Hi Gill,
There is a Miller Tool no. 6864 that goes on the strut shaft retaining nut, and then you put a 10 mm socket on the hex of the strut shaft. That special tool allows you to attach a torque wrench and thus torque down th nut to 70 foot pounds. Miller Tool makes all Chrysler special tools.
