Chrysler Repair: 05 Sebring Limited 2.7L: power door lock/window/cluster electric problems, power door locks, ground wires

Question
A bunch of weird things started happening all at once with our Sebring! The manual switch for the power door locks stopped working, the passenger side power window will not go down using either switch, the dashlights come on and go off by themselves intermittently. Have checked and replaced fuses, everything seem to be okay. Thought it might be the #5 fuse but other things that this fuse applies to work okay....Any idea where to start or what might be causing these issues?

Appreciate any ideas you can give me
Mark

Answer
Hi Mark,
The door locks and the dashlights are managed through the body control module so that if one of the several fuses that power it blew or opened then that might explain why those stopped working. There is no clear assignment of the fuses so check: 3,5,7,8,9,11,14,15, and 18.
Fuse 11 is involved with both the bcm and the dash so check that one carefully. Also check behind the left cowl panel (to the left of the driver left lower leg) for a ground screw with several black ground wires (among which are those that come from the bcm and the cluster) to be sure that the screw is tighly holding all the wires to the panel
The window could be a switch or the motor. You have to remove the panel on the door to get to the switch. I can copy that procedure  off of a CD and email it to you. But I need to know your email address. (The site asks you for it but it doesn't show it to the experts). Once you have the panel off check the voltage situation between pins 1 and 5.  When you go for up or down you should see 12v with reversing polarity with each choice. If you do, then the motor is bad. If you don't then one or the other of the switches has a bad contact. Let me know if that is the case and I can tell you what else to do to resolve which switch is bad.

PS Sorry for the delay but I just found your question in the 'pool' to which it had been referred by Kevin.
