Chrysler Repair: Car Dead - Charging & Strange happenings, volt ohm meter, battery situation

Question
Went to go out today and car was dead.  If you open the door, crazy clicking starts and it appears it is coming from the fuse box under the hood.  We started to charge battery - replaced 6/10.  Went to start car and it is still dead.  The headlights came on and starting blinking.  The blinkers are on right side.  And lights go dim quickly.  Also yesterday, when using blinkers, the left side would not turn off automatically and the right side would not come on.  I hope you can help.  Not sure if bad battery, fuses, or other things I have read about online.  So your information might get me on the right track.  Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi Sharon,
It is clear that the battery is discharged. But beyond that is why?
I would disconnect the battery cables and charge the battery isolated from the vehicle, to begin. Then if you have a volt-ohm meter I would place it across the disconnected battery cables to see what the resistance reading as this would give an indication if there is some sort of a short cirucit that will quickly discharge the battery when you hook it up again. It should read at least 10 ohms, and if not then we need to figure out why that is.
Almost all of the symptoms you described are related to a very weak battery situation.
Let me know what you learn. Also tell me what is the year/make/model/body style.
