Chrysler Repair: Dodge Ram Van Dome Lights Come On, dodge ram van, timer module

Question
QUESTION: On 2003 (Regency Conversion) Ram Van, the interior dome lights come on
after being off for 3 to 5 seconds. They do not go back off. The time between
them lights going off and coming back on is about the same as the time for
the auto door lock to happen after shutting all the doors with the keyless lock
already clicked. Not sure if that is relevant, because I have turned them on
(even if they are already on) and then turned them off manually with the
headlight knob switch (they do turn off with this tactic)  but they come back
on after the 3-5 seconds. I have cleaned all of the door latches with electronic
contact cleaner and WD-40 and PG blaster, checked all of the associated
fuses, e.g. dome lights, keyless entry, lights (ran through the sequences with
the fuses pulled), disconnected and reconnected the battery.

ANSWER: Hi Michael,
I don't focus on the Ram line so am not certain if a Ram Van has the same wiring as a Ram truck. I have the minivan '02 diagrams, and the '04 diagrams for the Ram truck 1500, 2500, 3500. Would either of these be identical to the Ram Van? If not, then I can't be of help to you.

QUESTION: I would guess that they are not identical. I would also guess that there are
similarities. Is there a timer module that would trigger some action associated
with the dome lights and keyless entry? Or is there a computer unit that controls
this?  Would malfunctioning sensors/switches cause this? If you could point me
in an educated direction? Thanks for checking.

Answer
Unfortunately, neither of the 2 manuals are specific about what could be causing this. Have you tried to get a free fault code readout at an Autozone parts store? There might be a body fault code that would point in the direction of a solution.
