Chrysler Repair: PT Camshaft sensor, pulley bolt, crank pulley

Question
I had a 0340 error ,replaced the Camshaft sensor and still will not start , 0340 is back is the magnet a problem?
Thanks

Answer
Hi Al,
Among the possibilities are:
5 volt supply may be absent, shorted to ground or shorted to 12v
Sens.Signal circuit may be "          "                   "
Sens ground may be open
or the pcm itself could be at fault.
The magnet isn't mentioned in the manual, but if all the wiring checked out then that could be replaced.
The three wires are:
5V supply is on pin 1 orange coming from pin 44 of the pcm
sensor ground is on pin 2 black/light blue coming from pin 43 of pcm
sensor signal is on pin 3 tan/yellow going to pin 33 of pcm
Test for pulsing of signal between 5 and 0.3V between 2 and 3 while turning the engine crankshaft by hand on the crank pulley bolt.
If you have pulse, the wires are good then the 0340 might be 'stale'?
