Chrysler Repair: 1993 2.5l plymouth voyager quit while running and wont restart, plymouth voyager, salvage yard

Question
QUESTION: Ok.I have checked the spark to the coil there is none.....and i cant seem to hear the fuel puump engaging either....i found a shorted 2 way connector melted with bare wires  under the intake on the passenger side...went to the salvage yard and replaced it... on the other vans it went to an egr sensor and my van dont have one of those.....but there were no other connections for this connector anywhere...so i assume it was a wire in the harness for another model....i dont know if thats the cause or not now....i checked the relays they all seem good and have power going to them.....i was told it was an ignition module to find out my van dont have one of those either or a hall effect sensor for that matter....im just lost trying to figure this out

ANSWER: Hi Rob,
The best approach is with your ignition key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the check engine light, which remains "on", to see it begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause. Then repeat the process to assure an accurate flash count. Then tell me the counts in the order of appearance. If for example you get 1-1-5-5, that would mean indeed that you have a failed hall effect sensor which is located in the distributor and can be replaced easily as unit for about $40. But it could be something else other than the 1-1-5-5 so let me know the counts. I have the same engine so I know something about it.

QUESTION: no i dont i just woke up....i was gonna go out and take instrument panel loose and check the bulb

Answer
Yes we need a working check engine light to get a code. Here is how to get to the bulb:
Remove warning light indicator grille by prying up with a flat blade
Remove three screws from warning light indicator module and disconnect wire connector to module
Remove steering column cover, underside one.
Set parking brake, and put shifter in low
Gently remove bezel around the cluster and remove pod switch wire connector
Carefully roll cluster out of cluster without disconnecting the transmission range indicator.
Remove the bulb in question from the rear of the cluster
