Chrysler Repair: 97 Voyager intermittent engine/trans electrical problems, plymouth grand voyager, automatic tranny

Question
I have a '97 Plymouth Grand Voyager 3.3 liter automatic Tranny. It started a couple weeks ago when we started smelling gas--it had a broken stem on fuel pump cap--so we changed out the pump it had also started going into limp mode & running rough and backfiring so I changed the plugs at same time as replacing fuel pump. Added Tranny fluid. Car ran good for a couple of days--maybe 4 or 5 and then the engine light was flashing again and was going into limp mode and started backfiring and bogging down upon accelerating. did the ignition PCM check and got the codes 12-42-45-43 & 55. Checked the EATX Relay and the Auto Shutdown relay and noticed that the positive cable wires were loose in the post connector.(had put new connectors on the wires to post when we got the new battery a couple wks ago.)So took and reseated the wires back tightly into the post connector. And WaahLa, took it around the block and it seemed to be running fine w/ no backfiring or problems changing gears..Went to work that night and going down the highway it started up again--the bogging down and backfiring, tranny went back into limp mode--check engine light flashing- then as soon as i got up to speed it would stop flashing and just be lit up -steady. Seems like if I accelerated or hit a bump in the road the light would flash again for a minute then go steady -on.
I have been scanning forums to try troubleshooting this problem-- it seems electrical to me, and I found that a lot of people with the same  or like problem had found that it was a loose ground wire from the 3 spliced wires in the Tranny strap. Do you think this could be it (and where do i find this ground wire)or do you have another idea on it?

Thank you -

Chris

Answer
Hi Chris,
The 3 - post ground wires should be checked. The thickest one goes to the engine block rear, the middle-size goes to the left side frame rail, and the thinnest goes to a splice just in front of the left side strut tower where four specific ground wires branch out to the pcm, tcm, power distribution center, and data link connector. So anywhere from the battery clamp to the other ends of those 3 wires are a source for what you are experiencing.

PS Sorry for the delay but I just found your question in the 'pool' to which Kevin had referred it.
