Chrysler Repair: alternator?, educated guess, timing belt

Hey Kevin my neighbor has a 2006 sebring LX 2.4 4 cyl car and it suddenly die on her on the street. I tested the battery and it was good. Try to jump start her car it turns over but does not start, her mechanic says that it may be the alternator, but would that have drain her battery has a warning that the alternator is bad? I kinda puzzled on this one or can it be something totally different? Thanks for your time JCC

ok I haft to answer this type of question all the time  lets see if U can make an educated guess which will be better then your mechanic would ever have made.


AN alternator does one thing and one thing only CREATES VOLTAGE FOR THE CAR TO RUN AND CHARGE UP THE BATTERY.

Now  if u have a fully charged battery  and even tried to jump start it  and still wont start  do U think an alternator is bad?

an alternator is not even turned on until the car is running for 3 seconds   

check your timing belt   check for spark  check for fuel.
