Chrysler Repair: timing belt 2005 town & country van, timing chains, economical approach

Question
at how many miles do I need to have timing belt changed on a 2005 town & country limited van

Answer
Hi Linda,
Both the 3.3L and 3.8L V-6 engines have timing chains, which don't usually break and so have no change out recommendation.
The 2.4L engine has a timing belt and those should be inspected at around 100,000 miles. You can easily remove the upper timing belt cover and inspect the belt for wear which is the most economical approach to deciding when to replace it. If the engine is driven conservatively the belt will go much further.
But I suspect you have the V-6 so you have nothing to worry about.
