Chrysler Repair: 2003 Dodge Neon (2.0 SOHC) cam position sensor., roland roland, dodge neon

Question
Roland, I saw your reply to this question posted in 2008. In it you mentioned that you could send the procedure for this engine to the original poster. My daughter's 2003 is having the same problem and was wondering if the offer of the procedure to replace this sensor still stands?

Thank you much for your time.

Answer
Hi Victor,
Let me describe it and see if that is sufficient, otherwise I can xerox and mail you the 2 pages.
The sensor is mounted on the rear of the engine's cylinder head. It has an electrical connector and 4 screws(at the corners of a square mounting plate). It is just below the valve cover. You begin by removing the brake booster hose and  electrical connectors from holders on the end of the cylinder head cover and reposition them.
Disconnect the cam shaft electrical plug (lift tab, three wires). Remove mounting screws and sensor.  The magnet can also be removed if the part came with a magnet, by simply removing its screw. If you replace it simply notice the locating dowels, screw is torqued to 30 inch-pounds. Then install sensor and its screws are torqued to 80 inch-pounds. Replace booster hose and electicals in holders, and attach plug to sensor.
That is the procedure.
