Chrysler Repair: p0172, dodge caravan, wd 40

Roland, you told me to use wd-40 on the egr valve on my 1998 dodge caravan for error code p0172.  Do I have to take the egr valve off.  I am assuming i do.

Hi Greg,
You may have to do that, but first stick the tip of a screwdriver in the slot of the valve stem which you will see between the valve body and the round vacuum top piece, hidden behind a flange. Move the stem in and out, and then spray some WD-40 on the stem where it enters the valve body. Chances are that will free up the action.
