Chrysler Repair: 1997 plymouth breeze battery light on, plymouth breeze, ccar

I am dumb founded on my breeze yesterday my battery light ameback on after a few days and i was driving for a bit. I had noticed my dash was dimming and the ccar was sluggish. I stopped at the gas station and turned the car off to pump gas and then it would not turn on after that. I had a friend jump me which worked for 5 minutes, i was then driving down the street after the jump and all my gauges were jumping back and fourth and the car began to jump. i parked the car at my friends house and noticed once again it would not start. I put a new battery in it today and it turned over very easy. The battery light however is still on. Please help, thanks for the help in advancce

Hi Shaun,
It would seem that your alternator has given up and needs to be replaced, in all likelihood. Have you replaced it lately? If not, that is probably what is wrong. You can do it yourself, and if it is the original unit you might want to have a alternator rebuild shop rebuild the unit rather that trading it in for a rebuilt one.
