Chrysler Repair: Chrysler LHS 1995: no start:, chrysler lhs, safety precaution

Question
My Chrysler died as driving and will not start,it wants to turn over but it seem s like it is wanting fuel, It has 3/4 tank of premium unleaded (always use it) Battery and all are ok, thinking it is the Fuel Pump, where is the location of the fuel pump?

Answer
Hi Roxana,
Don't jump to a conclusion about the fuel pump. Turn the key to the 'run' position while listening for any sounds coming from the rear of the car, in the fuel tank. If you hear a hum sound for about 1-2 seconds that would be the fuel pump and that shows it is OK. It cuts off after that short time period as a safety precaution and then starts again when you use the starter but you can't hear it against the background noise from the starter motor.
Instead, try your ignition switch to do a fault code readout of the engine computer memory which will probably tell us exactly why it won't start. Turn the key:"run-off-run-off-run" and leave it in the run position, doing that action in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the check engine light, which remain 'on', to see it begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause. Then repeat the process to be sure you have an accurate set of repeatable flash counts. Then send me a 'follow-up question" telling me the flash counts in the order of appearance. We can then diagnose the cause of your no start. Mention whether the engine is 3.3 or 3.5L.
