Chrysler Repair: Rear Heater Lines Removal, coolant line, heater hoses

Question
I have a 2004 Chrysler T&C with a leaking coolant line.  I have removed teh bottom two and top 4 hoses in the engine compartment.  We teh two bends in the line I cant remove the piping.  Wha do you recommend to make room.  Drop the exhaust? OR remove the plenum up above on the engine? OR is there another way to easily R&R.

Answer
Hi Tony,
I looked in my '02 manual and don't find any unusual removal procedures as being required. Are you certain that the ones you are having trouble with are defective? My approach would be to fix what is known to be broken and not mess with what 'ain't'. Best of luck. The heater hoses are shown in the manual but they just note the need to remove the spring clamps (pust them toward the center of the hose) and try to twist the hoses off the barbed nipples. If they don't come off then cut them at the nipple and buy new hoses is the suggestion. Don't use excessive force at the nipples or the nipples could be damaged or even the heater core itself! There are some instructions and drawing about the lines that run from the engine to the rear heater which I could xerox copy and mail to you. Can you describe exactly what hose(s) are giving you trouble?

PS Sorry for the delay I just found your question in the pool to which Kevin had sent it.
