Chrysler Repair: 97 2.5L V-6 struggles to go, engine controller, sebring

Hi I bought a 97 sebring jxi 6 cyl from a auction and its starts fine,idles fine but when you press the gas it sputters to gain speed..if you press it to hard it almost dies but come back.....it also does It in park of you press the gas..but it starts and idles fine..do you know what causes that ?

Hi William,
Use the igntion key to get to the engine controller memory to learn if it has noticed any faults and stored them as coded numbers: turn the key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the check engine light, which remains 'on', to see it begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause. Then repeat the process to be sure of an accurate set of flash counts. Then tell me the counts in the order of appearance and we'll go from there.
