Chrysler Repair: 98 Sebring Starter, starter solenoid, fuse block

Question
I see many postings regarding intermittent problems with the Sebring starter. My symptoms are: the car will not start in the morning, there is 0 volts at the cellenoid with the ignition in "start position". Pevious to this I removed the Locktronics system and it would occasionally "pop" the fuse. The battery is about 12 months old, the connections are good, the starter was replaced yesterday. After the car sits for a while and the temperature rises, the car will then start, making it impossible to troubleshoot. My next diagnosis is the STarter Relay. I have seen on many of the blogs that this is located in the fuse block with numerous other relays, but I do not have one labeled as Starter Relay. Since all of the relays are the same part number, I used a relay that I knew worked "AC control" and replaced each of the others individually with this one when it would not turn over and it did not cure the problem. None of the relays in the interior fuse block seem to have anything to do with the engine systems. Is there another location for the Starter Relay or is it piggy backing off of another, leaving only the Park/Neutral switch as the culprit? It seems that it would be odd that that would change with the ambient temp.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Jeff,
I assume you have the Sebring covertible. You missed the relays in the rear of the box, down a level below the front relays. The back most relays are for the cooling fan. The next to back relays are the ASD (inboard) and the starter relay (outboard). You may want to remove the air duct above that part of the box to find these 4 relays. Try switching those around. If that doesn't solve it, then let me know whether the starter relay is clicking when you try it. If so, but starter motor doesn't respond, do you hear a louder click from the starter solenoid, or not?
Let me know and we can go from there.
