Chrysler Repair: Sunroof wont close properly., chrysler lhs, postal mail

Question
I recently purchased a 1999 Chrysler LHS 4 door with 3.5 liter engine for my wife and when we drove it home I noticed a lot of wind noise coming from the sunroof. When I inspected it I found that it would close all the way but would drop about 1/2" at the back of the window when any pressure was applied to the glass. Is this a simple adjustment that I can do or do you think it might require replacement parts and need someone with expertise to do the job? Thanks in advance.

Answer
Hi William,
Make sure that the glass panel has closed to the fully forward position as were it to be a bit short of that the rear might be dropped down a bit. If it seems to be fully closed, then notice that there are two screws on each side, one forward, one aft or four total. If you loosen those screws you should be able to adjust either the front or the rear height of the glass. Do the front first it it is 'off' then do the rear. The level should be 1/32" below the surface of the metal roor adjacent to the glass surface.
If the adjustment doesn't do it, then it may require a repair on the mechanism that slides back and forth on the track and is designed to raise the glass at the very end of its travel. I can xerox copy and postal mail to you the 9 pages that show the entire mechanism.
