Chrysler Repair: no spark on one cylinder, 66 impala, impala ss

Question
QUESTION: Hi Kevin, 2000 town & country was running bad. I'm old school so put my old timing light on plug wires one by one. Found 2 wires not lighting up my light. So I figure coil pack. Put that in and now I have 1 wire not sparking. Engine is 3.8 with 130,000 on it. I've heard crank and cam sensors are possibilities...and comThanx for looking...Gregputer could be culprit. Any help would be awesome. I can fix almost everything on my '66 Impala ss convert. I'm totally lost on the newer stuff. ..

ANSWER: cam and crank wont affect just one cyl.

use a spark tester  15 bucks and go one by one to see which is missing  also check the codes as well in the engine computer because the light has to be on by now.

QUESTION: Thanks for input Kevin...but my spark tester is my timing light. I know which one is missing...there is no check engine light which really surprises me. The wire that isn't sparking goes to middle front plug...weird cuz occassionally it does spark. The issue was 2 wires not sparking..now only one with new coil pack...Is it possible I got a bad coil pack??? How do ya test a coil pak. I appreciate you looking at my problem. Thanks...Greg

Answer
don't use a timing light  they don't work right with DIS ignition   that is why I said get a test light or spark tester  that way U can put it inline to see which one is not working.  Its impossible for U to just have one not firing  the  way the system works is the coil pack has 4 wires going to is  one 12 supply and the other 3 are grounds from the pcm   if one is working then the other will as well they are from the same ground pulse especially seance u replaced the coil pack already.
