Chrysler Repair: 95 Chysler New Yorker AC/Heater Problems, fuse box, chysler

Question
I was just reading a question from Dave sent to you about a problem I am having! I can turn my ac on and it work fine blows cold and everything then all of a sudden the whole thing shuts off and starts blowing HOT air out of the defrost. I try to turn it off and none of the buttons work. Then sometimes it will cut back on itself but mostly I have to turn the car off and sometimes it comes back on. Please help me!

Answer
Hi Ashleigh,
I would begin by checking (or replacing) fuse #6 (10 amp, top row, 6th from the front of the box) in the fuse box located behind the left end cap of the dash. It could have a subtle crack in its wire that causes it to 'open' on its own when it gets warm from being in use, and then closes when it cools down. Aside from that we would need to consider whether the control panel itself may be suffering some sort of internal power failure. But start by looking very closely at the fuse, or simply replace it.
