Chrysler Repair: 2.7 L valve seals replacement?, head gasket leak, haynes manual

Question
I've been told that I need to replace my valve seals in my 2.7 L dodge Intrepid engine.  Where can I find some guidance on how to do so?  {I'm great at following pictures}

Answer
Hi Ron,
Unfortunately the replacement of the valve seals involves a significant amount of dismantling of the engine such that I would not be inclined to do the job if that is all that is necessary (unless the amount of oil being burned is clearly unacceptable and is proven to be the seals as the issue). You have to remove the timing chain and camshafts and rockers and also have a compressor available to pressurize each cylinder in turn to remove the spring without loosing control of the valve. I would be more inclined to do the job when/if the water pump needed to be replaced, and certainly if a head had to be removed due to a head gasket leak.
I would recommend a Haynes manual for the LH body model year that you have as likely being adequate, or a factory service manual for the '98 Concorde/Intrepid which covers that engine. I could xerox copy and postal mail you the pages from the FSM at a cost of 10 cents a side plus the postage.
But think about the cost/benefit of doing all this dismantling for just the seals. The possibility of causing some other issue rather than pure success may be great enough to counter- balance the benefit of reduced oil consumption.
