Chrysler Repair: 95 LHS: Climate Control/Power Windows Quit, chrysler lhs, climate center

Question
Roland,
I have a 1995 Chrysler LHS. Both the Climate Control Center and the Power Windows stopped working at the same time while both the Air Bag and ABS icons stay on. I have checked all the fuses, relays and circuit breakers but all check okay. I jumped power to the window switch and the motors worked fine. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Darryl

Answer
Hi Darryl,
There is a fuse J (40 amp) in the power distribution box in the engine compartment that supplies power to the windows, climate center, blower and air bag so that is where I would start. It is probably worn out (crack in the wire) rather than blown out because its current goes to the ignition switch and then to fuses 22,6,21,7 (in the same order as the circuits listed) and if there was a short in one of those circuits it would blow the smaller fuse behind the dash before it blew J.

PS Thanks for the rating and nomination. By the way, if the fuse is OK then the section of the ignition switch that handles the current is probably the cause of the problem as that section only handles current from that fuse used for the devices that failed.
