Chrysler Repair: 99 Dodge Caravan: trans quick learn, dodge caravan, transmission cooler

Question
I have been working this through with Roland . My husband has had the DBSIII scanner on the van and everything checked out good.
the transmission is a EATX IIIA-41TE
When doing the quick learn function it says that the throttle angle is to high, ( that is to keep the speed of the engine high enough not to stall )
Then after doing this about 4 times it says that the Transmission temperature is to high.
Any ideas ?

Answer
Hi Nancy,
The quick learn is done with the angle at 20 to 25 degrees opening. Also, you are supposed to warm the trans until the DRB says it is "hot", so this may be a normal report to you that it is warmed up sufficiently to go through the learn procedure. So if everything else about the function seems normal, I would ignore the 'report'. "Too hot" however might imply that you have less than optimum fluid flow to the transmission cooler core up front.
