Chrysler Repair: 06 Minivan: radio not working, inner fender, radio product

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2006 caravan and my radio system, (RAZ radio product code R-A15) stopped working completely.  I do not see a fuse listed anywhere for the Radio, and nothing else seems to be not working.  I am wondering if there is a fuse in the back of this radio that should be checked or what.. PLEASE HELP,  I am crazed over this!

ANSWER: Hi Kate,
The fuses for the radio are not in the radio but are part of the wiring in the vehicle itself.
If you look in the engine compartment there is a box on the driver-side inner fender that has fuses and relays inside of it. Look for fuses #5, 14 and 20 and examine them for either being blown or having a subtle crack in their internal wire. Probably fuse 5 is blown, but check all three. Let me know if you can't find the fuses that I listed or if they are all apparently OK.

QUESTION: In reference to the 06 mini van not working, all of the 3 fuses appear to be ok in appearance and work in other spots.  Any other ideas??

Answer
Hi Kate,
Then I would remove the radio and verify that you have power to it on pins 1 and 12 even when the key is 'off' and more importantly on pin 2 of the same plug at the radio when the key is in the run position, using a voltmeter or a glow light. Also notice that there are ground wires on pins 11 and 22 that go to a tie point nearby on the dash structure, Make sure that the ground is tigthly connected at that structural point.
If you have voltage and grounds as I described but still the radio seems 'dead' then I would believe there is an internal problem with the radio.
