Chrysler Repair: 2007 Chrysler Town & Country (Touring) Tail & Cyclops Light Problem, chrysler town, attachment point

Question
Hi, I have a 2007 T%26C whose drivers side tail light and rear cyclops light is not working. The turn signal AND the brake light do not work. The passenger side is fine. I checked the fuses and bulbs, all appear to be fine. This leads me to believe that there is an electrical problem somewhere, but I have no idea where I could begin to troubleshoot. This is compounded by the fact that the drivers side rear sliding door has not worked properly for a couple of months now. I suspect a short or wiring problem with that. I don't know if the problems are related, but find it coincidental that the problems are all on the drivers side. Can you provide any suggestions for what to check?

Thanks!

Answer
Hi Jason,
I am working with the '05 shop manual and I don't see any common cause for the door and the tail lights to fail. So if we separate the issues that is probably the best way to go. Because all the bulbs in the tail light on the left are out, and they have a couple of different circuits involved with no shared wiring, my suggestion would be to look at the single ground wire for all the bulbs and trace it to the ground attachment point to the body, nearby. The wire is colored black/dark green. I don't know what you mean by the cyclops light so I can't be sure it is also grounded the same way. So check that ground attachment point to the body to be sure it is clean and tight.

PS Sorry for the delay but I just found your question in the "pool" to which it had been referred.
Tell me more about the sliding door behavior and maybe I can give you some ideas as to what to look for. Does the power lock work on that door?
