Chrysler Repair: misfire on a specific cylinder, chevy astro van, chevy astro

1997 chevy astro van has computer code of misfire on cylinder 5. ive change the cap roder spark plugs wires and compression test. what else could be the problem?

Hi Tony,
You appear to have covered the spark and compression possibilities. Perhaps the 2 wires at the plug to the injector on that cylinder are compromised so look at their condition, and if they seem about the same as the others then you might want to change the injector. A faulty injector can also cause a misfire. But be careful to not damage the fuel rail when you remove it.
