Chrysler Repair: Left Rear Sliding Door wont open: 99 minivam, chrystler voyager, postal mail

I have a 1999 chrystler voyager. The left back sliding door is stuck closed and locked. I took the door apart an still can not unlock it. Any suggestions?

Hi Bud,
The only thing that comes to mind is if the fuel filler door is on that left side, then there is an interlock between that door and the sliding door release mechanism which prevents the door from being opened unless the fuel door is closed. That interlock could be out of adjustment. Otherwise there are about 15 pages in the manual about the sliding door which I could copy at 10 cents per side and postal mail to you. But nothing specific about the hang-up you are experiencing is noted. It would give you all the detail about the mechanism however.
