Chrysler Repair: 1997 Sebring: code 0455, charcoal canister, hose clamps

Question
QUESTION: Where is the pcv valve located? Is there a way to check it?

ANSWER: Hi Joe,
It is located on the 'front-side' edge of the engine valve cover. It has a hose attached to it. By 'front' I mean adjacent to spark plug for the #2 cylinder.

QUESTION: The PCV valve fixed the rough engine problem but the check engine light came on again.  Code P0455.  Checked that the gas cap was tight, what else can I check?

Answer
Hi Joe,
The entire vapor collection system needs to be checked to find a larger size leak. That includes the hose from the tank to the charcoal canister in the front right corner of the engine compartment, and the hoses from the canister to the leak detection pump and to the throttle body via the evap emission solenoid. If you can't find any leaks or loose hose clamps, then the leak detection pump itself may be the cause. The solenoid could also be the source of the leak. If you have a vacuum pump/gauge you can do some tests to help find the leak. If you write back let me know if this is a Sebring convert or a coupe as these are very different vehicles though both have the same engine.
