Chrysler Repair: heater blower not working:04 Sebring, blower motor resistor, 2004 chrysler sebring

Question
QUESTION: My blower for the heater simply stopped. I checked the 30A interior fuse and it seemed ok. I then checked the under hood relay by removing and using the one from my headlights to see if the motor would come on and still nothing. Is there any other possible solution I am overlooking other than the obvious that the blower motor is gone.

Thanks,

Ken

Answer
Hi Ken,
Unless by chance a 40 amp fuse in the power distribution box under hood blew, then it pretty much has to be the blower motor. That fuse is #1 in the front row, closest to the fender on the driver side. It powers also a couple of other things which you may or may not notice as also not working, so verify that fuse is good. Also look back at fuse #1 in the interior box to make sure that it doesn't have a subtle fatigue crack in its wire. If those check out ant you don't get any action on the highest blower speed setting either, then it pretty much has to be the blower motor. You can jump 12V to it's plug, under the dash on the underside of the right end of the HVAC box. The wires are a twisted pair that go to the blower motor resistor block. If by chance you do get high speed blower only, and no other speeds, then that is a symptom of a blown resistor block. But if no action at all, then you should find that the blower, when jumped, also won't work at all.
