Chrysler Repair: Power seat stuck on 2000 Chrysler 300M, 2000 chrysler 300m, chrysler 300m

Question
Hi, I have a 2000 Chrysler 300M and the FRONT part of the drivers seat is stuck all the way up. The seat(where you sit your bottom, not the back part) adjusts 2 different ways, you can adjust the rear up and down and you can adjust the front up and down. EVERYTHING works perfect except for the front part. It is stuck all the way up and it is very uncomfortable to drive because I am about 6ft tall. When I press the switch down to lower the seat it just clicks and does not move. I looked under the seat with a flash light and there is nothing in the way and everything seems to be plugged in. Like I said all other positions work and adjust perfect just the front bottom is stuck up. Any suggestions? Thanks ahead of time.

Answer
Hi Joseph,
I have the '98 and '04 manuals so I can't be absolutely certain which one in detail is applicable to your '00 model and the designs are basically identical. But in either case, I would suspect either a mechanical binding of the seat/seat track interface or a failed motor, because the power response is present. I hope that you can free up the mechanism by removing the seat and examining it, or replace the motor if it has failed (the late minivan situation is horrible in that the failure of a motor appears to require the entire track assembly/motors to be replaced). I would be pleased to send you that section of the manual by means of a copy sent through the mail. Just give me a postal mailing address and I will get it to you promptly.
