Chrysler Repair: 1998 Chrysler Town and Country 3.8L wiring harness, chrysler town and country, engine wiring harness

Question
QUESTION: Where can someone buy a 'good' engine wiring harness for a 1998 Chrysler Town and Country LXi vehicle?  The dealer says it needs a fuel injection harness and a new engine wiring harness.  After they just installed a new computer it throws fault codes when the main engine wiring harness is 'jiggled'.  The replacement fuel injection harness is because the computer isn't getting fuel flow information back to the computer.

I'm ordering the fuel injection wiring harness through the dealer and they say the engine wiring harness needs to be replaced also.  I've had the transmission rebuilt, or just about rebuilt.  The dealer just installed a new PCM/CCM (power control module) but says the car is undriveable because the fuel is being dumped into the engine excessively and may cause an engine fire.

A friend will install the fuel injection harness, but I need the main engine wiring harness.  Any ideas where I can buy one?

ANSWER: Hi David,
My suggestion would be to go to a 'pull it yourself' type yard that has a '98 or thereabout van and remove it from the wreck. It will give you practice at the task which you otherwise will have to experience on your own vehicle. I doubt there is any aftermarket source for a new one, other that the dealer at a great cost.

PS: Sorry for the delay as I just received your question in the 'question pool' to which it had been referred by Kevin who I had invited to share some of his backlog.

PPS: May I ask a favor of you? Please click on the "Thank/rate the expert" button below/left and the next page will give you an opportunity to answer the question: "Would you like to nominate this expert for volunteer of the month?" If you would be so kind as to answer "YES" I would be most appreciative. I am competing for that recognition and I need your support to win. Do it now as the deadline approaches at 2 pm CT Thursday.
Thank you for considering my request

QUESTION: I've tried to find this somewhere at a pick and pull.  The dealer can't get it from Chrysler, only at a Specialty Wiring place and it's $3200 installed.

Answer
Hi David,
I find it hard to believe there is a code: "jiggled". Ask them for the specific code number. I would believe that with a little trouble-shooting using a volt/ohm meter one could find an intermittent electrical connection. Let me know what code number it is and we'll go from there. Unless there was fire or major visible damage to the harness I don't buy into the 'replacement' approach.
I have the wiring diagrams for the car and can xerox copy and mail those to you if you or a friend want to give it a try to locate the problem. Are there any specific circuits that are flaky?

Thanks for the 10's across rating...but would you consider looking again just below that part on the 'Thank/rate' page to find a 'Yes' to click on for a nomination? I would be really please if you would do that.
