Chrysler Repair: HVAC Contril vents, defog, location thanks

Question
I have a 2001 Sebring convertible, the HVAC controls for the vents, IE. defog is stuck on the one setting if you turn to another setting like floor nothing happens.
If I change the complete control unit which include the fan speed and the temperature control with a new one will that fix the issue or is it controlled from another location?

Hi Keith,
That is an issue with the 'mode' door. So I would not believe it is related to the control unit but rather the actuator that is in the under dash box.
Would you be so kind as to tell me whether the body style of the convert is the same as was used from '96 to '00 or whether it is like the '01 to '05? There was a change right around '01 and the heater units may not be the same so I would be able to give you a better answer if I know which you have. I am sure we can sort this out.
