Chrysler Repair: 1994 Chrysler: no start, chrysler new yorker, crank sensor

Question

"1994 Chrysler New Yorker. Car would just die driving it. Start back up after a few minutes. One day it just would not start anymore. There is no ground signal to the fuel pump and no spark. Replaced the ECM and still the same problem. Have had several shops look at it and they say it is possibly in the wiring. This car is in good shape, never wrecked. Also checked body control module. Is there something we are over looking?"

Answer
Hi Duane,
Have you tried the ignition key for fault codes? "on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then count the flashes of the check engine light. Then repeat to assure an accurate count set of flashes. Then group in pairs in the order of appearance to form the 2-digit fault codes. Tell me the results and we'll go from there. 55 is always the last code, it means end of readout. The symptom to me sounds like a cam or crank sensor is giving up. Those would be 54 and 11 codes respectively. If one goes there will be not spark or fuel for safety reasons. I presume you hear the fuel pump for about a second after turning the key to the run position, correct?
I await your count results.
