Chrysler Repair: cylinder head surface limits: 2,7L, chrysler sebring, head surface

Question
I am working on a 2004 2.7 Chrysler Sebring. I need to know what the how much can be surfaced off the cylinder heads? The heads are in good shape but they are warped approximately .012 to .013 thousands.

Answer
Hi Mike,
The head must be flat to a limit of .002" and it has a grinding limit of .008". It looks like you might be a little short of the flat limit after you grind off the max. from the head. The grinding limit also includes any grinding done on the block surface, by the way. I will leave it to you and the shop to decide whether to go for it or not as I have no experience with what the final result likely to be.
