Chrysler Repair: 03 PT Cruiser not starting, new lug, copper wire

Question
Roland,I wrote yesterday about intermittent starting. I cleaned the selonoid terminal that you mention and pinched spade for better contact. I actually have to jump the hot wire red from the started directly to the positive terminal on the battery. I tested the hot on the starter and it shows power. Selonoid seems to be OK, power to starter seems to be OK, terminals seem to be OK but yet doesn't start unless it gets direct power to starter???? Doesn't make sense. What do you think about replacing the hot wires from battery and the one to the starter. It's like it's not getting enough voltage to starter. But the weird thing is that it works for a while, up to a few weeks then goes bad again????

Answer
Hi Tom,
Did you get that 'no start' resolved? If you would like to tell me there is a "Thank/rate the expert" button below which if you click will take you to page where you can "comment".
May I also ask a favor? On that same page you will see the question "Would you like to nominate this expert to be 'volunteer of the month"? If you will click on "Yes" that would be appreciated.  I am competing for that recognition which is based on nominations from questioners like yourself. Achieving it will increase awareness of the Chrysler repair category.

Hi Tom,
I would look at the attachments at the end of the red wire as one or the other could be damaged chemically or mechanically between the lug and the copper wire proper. You might put on a new lug rather than have to replace wire, but that wire seems to be culprit.
